After exactly half a year after launching this version, I have finally added all previous 2008 (and one 2009) entries of Carol of the Bells to the Archive. Previously, these entries were restricted to the previous version on Blogger, which went private at the same time this version launched.
Why only the 2008 posts? Adding just those was a ton of work, believe me. Not only did I have to copy each entry over by hand and manually match their dates, I also “went the extra mile” and fixed all broken links, videos, validity, and even some grammatical errors. Due to publishing all these entries at once, I now have a firm “standard” set in mind for future posts.
Any links that refer to entries from 2005, 2006, or 2007 have been mended to accept the new WordPress system (which usually only involved replacing the
.html on an URL with a slash), however they will still be technically broken until I add those entries as well. I believe I have over 50 entries yet to add, so it may be a little while before they’re all completely added, (and I must bring up again the fact that I am restoring the 2005 entries, which have not been available for over three and a half years.)
Seeing the old entries always gives me a spark to write one more, it just feels like I have created this huge four-year tome and I don’t want to stop. With 100% of entries finally existing at the same place and at the same time, I can draw on such a wealth of dreams and experiences as I enter college. I didn’t have this for high school, but that was the point.
PS- Doing this also tipped me off that some smileys are sometimes wrong. should be a sad face, not a frown, for example. Will be fixing this later.
