Tabula Rasa

Mid-terms are over and I’m currently enjoying the intermediary day between semesters. As bad as I thought this year was, and was going to be, once I got over the fact that it couldn’t possibly be exactly the same as last year things started to loosen up. Well, it was more like me going into auto-pilot until now. But tomorrow is Tabula Rasa, a holiday I invented marking the start of the second semester. From Tabula Rasa onward everything got better last year. I was definitely more in sync with my classes and friends, and I even got to enjoy an after-school pizza fest one time. Although that was for Greek, (and we even took a trip to a local restaurant later in the year too), so nothing cool like that will probably happen again.

I guess I’m cool with that. As long as the rest of the year ends quickly I’m sure I won’t really mind. I mean, I tuned out most of last semester, which made it seem like it went by blazingly fast. I’m really looking forward to this school year ending so I can maybe draw a better hand next time. I’m also slightly hopeful for this semester, because last year it went by fast, and fun. It’s really hard to explain, but my character changed from February to June last year.

But this is this year; an entirely new beast called 2007. The first day of the new year I blew apart the Temple of Andrex and reworked it, inside and out. Version two was really half-baked, I’ll admit. Things didn’t make sense, or weren’t formatted to work with the iI template, content was outdated, etc. With version three I completely rewrote vast sections of information to be suitable for the new design and the current times. Most startling of all, though, is that I registered two new domains for it: AndrewRabon.com and Andrex.info. The cause is that I’ve been thinking back on my older sister Ashley’s websites (long deceased), and I think that if she was my age when I started my websites, and just kept them going until now, her websites would be 7 years old. So that’s a part and will be a part of my New Years’ resolutions henceforth: To update the Temple of Andrex once a quarter (every three months), and to post a new entry on this blog once a month, (something I’ve unwittingly done thus far on both counts). Although it shouldn’t be too hard, I am pretty forgetful nonetheless.

Anyways, it’s snowed here in Connecticut and for the first time it stuck, (not for long, though). It unfortunately wasn’t enough to take a decent picture for a new banner, though. I’m also unmotivated to fix the commenting issue because CSS is stupid. Aww, I’m sorry CSS. Come back to bed, you’re the only style sheets for me.

Eh-hem. I finally bit the bullet and started listening to Within Temptation, a Dutch goth rock band that Ashley’s been into since she was 16. It’s not as bad as it sounds, many of their songs are quite cheerful and catchy, even though almost all of them aren’t strictly rhyming. I feel like I’m turning into Ashley at some times because as you know, I’ve wanted to experience all the fun she had at this time in her life. It’s something I have to deal with, but it would be a lot easier if I had Greek 1 this year.
